-- Joyce Brothers No current updates for the time being!
I got my predicted grades for my A2's yesterday and I'm expected AAB (for English Language, French and History respectively.) They don't have a prediction for Psychology yet, since I've only just started taking it. I'll be pretty chuffed if they turn out to be right as most of the unis I'm applying to have a grade boundary just below that, but I'll just work my arse off and see what happens - I try to refrain from counting chickens before they hatch, so to speak. They're also jumping up our bums about university applications - Oxbridge candidates have to send off their UCAS applications by 27th September. I was considering applying for either of the two, but now I just can't be bothered, quite frankly, for the following reasons: :bulletpurple: I have two B's in my AS Levels (shock horror ). They'll most likely say no.:bulletpurple: After five years of going to a top high school, I have no plans to spend my life in anywhere too selective. I'm all for prestige and reputation, but I don't really want a repeat of the Girls' High. I really don't. :bulletpurple: The Chinese courses for both universities look like crap. :bulletpurple: I couldn't even understand the description for one of the courses... so perhaps I'm not really Oxbridge material. TOO MANY BIG WORDS, HURR. :slow: I made a friend called Chris today on the bus (note to self: flying several feet up an aisle whilst twisting and spacking because the bus lurched on a roundabout is a good ice-breaker. ) She is a doctor in ophthalmics and lives in Canary Wharf - I bet she's minted! She was really friendly and nice. I LIKE MAKING NEW FRIENDS WHO AREN'T PUT OFF BY MY OVERPOWERING BODY ODOUR. ![]() I'm tackling my debt problem with a touch more rationality at the moment. I've decided that, now I'm back at college and see my friends every day again, I can afford to cut back on massive social gatherings for a bit and save up some money. Apart from travelling to see friends in other cities, like lauren, I don't really need to spend loads of cash to meet up with folks. I think for the time being I'll stick to smaller-scale things until I can afford to have a bit more fun... |
