Machinae Supremacy - Death From Above

"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I spent the last three days with my good friend, chez, who came over to my place to stay for a while to help cheer me up a little. We did all sorts of things, the highlights of which including:

Going to Roxi, a restaurant where I used to work, and eating pasta (Chez, however, treated herself to a prawn baguette.) What was curious was that the people walking past our table (we sat outside in the afternoon sunshine) kept staring at my food! Jeez, folks, it's just pasta! You'd think they wanted some or something, the way they kept looking at it.
Watching DVDs, and the tasteless cartoons on my hard drive... >_>; We watched such wondrous things as Uptown Girls, The Emperor's New Groove, Fruits Basket and Drawn Together.
The chats on my bed about anything, from clingy fanboys to bad wind from junk food! Oh, we're so ladylike. *laughs*
The second morning, when I was lying on the bed - I rolled over, and lo and behold, my right breast fell out of my nightie. xD YEESH, how EMBARRASSING! But I saw the funny side, and we laughed our asses off. Then because Chez had seen my boob, I made her show me hers so we were even Stevens... >_>;

We had loads of fun. It was fantastic, and after the sheer crap-ness of last Thursday night (information about which I lost the blog entry, because I am too stupid and absent-minded for my own good... ...oops), I really fancied a girls' night in, having a laugh with someone cool. It didn't really take my mind off the whole "Case Of The Ex", though, as we talked about it quite a lot, but it did help settle my mind a little about things, I guess. Although I've not stopped feeling torn up over this whole deal. Something inside me says it's just so unfair that it has to be this way... ...you know? I hope that everything turns out OK for us in the end, and we'll be alright when we get to finally talk to eachother again on Sunday/Monday/whenever he gets his internet access at his new home.

So, what else have I been up to? I've managed to possibly break three of my toes. How, you ask?

I ran into my hard drive.

Seriously.
Basically, I was running (I was mucking about with my older brother, and I ran and wasn't watching where I was going), and smashed foot-first into my hard drive, bending three of my toes out of position and bloody hurting them. However, whilst tears stung my eyes from all the pain of it, I was also laughing my head off. *lmao* Hey, it was funny. The circumstances under which I hurt myself were pretty stupid, I had to admit.

I also have come down with a cold, so I've felt more than a little bit under the weather since Monday evening. It's starting to heal itself, now, but I guess with a cold, all you can really do is stay well-rested and just wait for it to go away of its own accord. Such is the joy of incurable, yet annoyingly-common everyday afflictions such as this one.
My voice sounds like total crap, because my throat is all scratchy. It sounds and feels like someone has ripped out my larynx and wiped their arse with it before putting it back in its original place. And my constant sneezing and sniffling are pretty pathetic, by all accounts. At least I don't still have a fever and at least I'm not randomly falling asleep/wanting to pass out everywhere like I did when I first got sick, and I still managed to have a great time chillin' with Chez, so it's not like it's the most terrible thing in the world I've ever been landed with.

Compared with the lion's share of the shit I've been put through this past month-ish, I'd say getting sick is a pretty easy damn deal.
