-- Ruth Ann Schabacker No current updates for the time being! It's the tenacious d concert on Monday night. And how fucking psyched am I!? Me and Hayley, who I'm going with, are both so excited. We're meeting up with Alex, a guy in my Politics class, before the gig. You can meet really cool people at gigs too, and see them again afterwards. Gigs are excellent places for making friends!I hope I have enough money for a tour tee... Work is so much fun, but really time-consuming. Not only did I already have five evening shifts this week (and with Christmas bookings, we've been really busy) but yesterday, on my night off, I got called in to help out for a couple of hours as well, meaning I'll have worked six days in one week. Tiring much!? I've been coming home so shattered afterwards that I've missed every single first lesson of college this week. I feel so guilty. I know it's doing me no favours in the long run, and I sure as hell do not want to get into trouble with my parents for missing classes! Bad Sarah, BAD! Next week, I must attend every single lesson. We only have two days of college left, anyway. Make that one and a half. So I could really do with going to those lessons, just to show some commitment!!Although I've been rather sensible and studious, too. I bought a textbook off amazon uk on Weimar Germany, and then went to Waterstones and bought another book in the same series on Britain 1895-1918. All I need now is the book on Germany & The Third Reich 1933-1945, then I have all the textbooks I need to help me study for the exams. This is really helpful, because I've missed a lot of the notes throughout the year. These books are specially formulated for the modules I'm doing, and are laid out in chronological order, unlike the GODAWFUL textbooks we were issued free of charge to borrow at the beginning of the year. The one on Britain is so awful I cannot actually understand any of it. Not much of a good read, eh!? I tell you, it makes the exam seem more complicated than it actually is. So I figured buying my own textbooks which have been recommended by my teacher and are of better quality was a smart plan. I told my teacher, Corwen, and she seemed really impressed that I had made some commitment outside of college. So YAY.I've finished all my Christmas shopping! I've finally also done a huge parcel of goodies for irene which I shall send off as soon as I've earned enough money to do so. Now I've had a job, things are a bit easier. ;) I'm relieved that I managed to get all my friends and loved ones a pressie this year. Last year, I was so broke buying stuff for the ex *coughcuntcough* that my presents for everyone else were, frankly, a bit SHIT. I'm so proud of the ones I've bought this year. I made sure that everyone has something nice to take home with them. My friends are all having a mini-party after college and we're all bringing food. Jonathan and Franki decided that their present to everyone would be to bring all the food! I am bringing crackers and Christmas cards, along with everyone's gifts. Being that I spent so much time and care (not to mention money!!) getting them all, I do hope that they will be happy with them.I've already had some pressies from my friends. I'll tell you what I've been given so far - my friends are such darlings. <3 Bar of Toblerone chocolate from John Ginger kitty plushie (with cute blue eyes!) from Emms Make-up bag from Abi Plush über-soft black kitty plush with a pink bow from Sammy Chocolate coins & puppy plush from KirstyAll in all, I'm doing pretty well so far present-wise, wouldn't you say!? *lol* We've got the MASSPRESENTGIVINGJOYOMG on Tuesday after college at our mini-party too, which is when everyone is getting their gifts from me! YAY! I'm in the Yuletide spirit. As a Pagan, I don't celebrate the Christmas holiday, but the Winter Solstice is a great opportunity to party. Besides, the idea of giving and receiving gifts, and giving to charity and the needy are all Pagan ideas, anyway. So I have no excuse but to join in on all the fun!
