I've been told that my blogs are read avidly by people who visit pink-robots.com. I guess I'd better not keep you guys disappointed, and update my blog, eh? Tee hee.All of a sudden, I'm really beginning to feel the sting of not having any money. I have a little, but I need to spend that on my top priority, which is getting a belated present to somebody who really deserves to have received it AGES ago. International postage is a bitch, and thus sending large packages full of gifts to my friends, whilst really enjoyable and rewarding (I actually ♥ giving things to people!) is also a real bother financially. I am rarely able to afford the postage costs, and by the time I can, I usually forget and spend it on something else. So, for the past couple of months, this has been my top priority. I hope that the recipient of my gifts will forgive me, I added a few more things to make the package more fun for when it finally gets to her. D:< Not only is the lack of money bothering me as it prevents me from sending things to the people I care about, it also bothers me because it is autumn, and the shops have decided to fille their shelves with tons of awesome stuff. bonnebell's shelves in Claire's Accessories have been refilled to the brim with the most amazing lipglosses, and I can't afford any of them! And topshop has this gorgeous wrapover jersey dress in this amazing turquoise hue that I can't buy, either. *sigh* Christmas looms ominously on the horizon, and that is gonna kill me. That is, should I have any budget at ALL this year. Geez, life isn't fair sometimes. I need a job, and fast.A combination of glandular fever, stress and lack of sleep almost wiped me out on Tuesday, but I'm okay now. Sixteen hours of sleep does a lot of good to a burned-out immune system! One thing that is really bugging me at the moment is poor parenting and spoiled kids. There are so many amazing people out there who'd make the most wonderful parents who can't be given the child they've always dreamed of having, and yet there's these disgusting little brats who are being spoon-fed everything in their life and don't have an inch of common sense as a result. From the kid I heard crying because he couldn't have what he wanted in Toymaster (until, of course, his equally repulsive mother gave in) to the teenager on the forums earlier complaining that his dad was "a selfish asshole" because he bought his son a laptop that couldn't run more than two large programs at the same time, instead of the multimedia PC that cost a couple of thousand dollars (oh lord, some people are so CRUEL to their children! Just a laptop!? Why, you vicious, heartless bastard.) - people just can't look after their kids these days, it seems. What happened to a good hard day's work teaching children how to save money for what they want? If you're gonna buy your little snotrag a computer, at least make them do chores so they can see how working towards something can be rewarding and beneficial. GEEZ. Okay, I'm done. ![]() In better, more smiley news ^_^; shereena replied to the note I sent her. She really is a lovely person, and I'll look forward to getting to know her. Perusing through someone's website, reading what they've spent hours putting together for your interest (and, in this case, benefit) and leaving a comment to let them know you really identified with them, could end up making you a great friend. In fact, that's a bit like how I met irene, and she's a total star I am really glad to have had the fortune of befriending. shereena's experiences with her own ex beared some similarities with my own, and she really inspired me. I found her words very uplifting, and to know one is not alone is a really reassuring and motivating feeling. The Internet is not as big and scary as it might seem sometimes. :) shereena even linked me to her website. Please go and love on her for me! Oh, and one more thing - I received the first submission for an art contest I'm running at deviantART from this talented fellow. Isn't it wonderful?!
If you'd like to enter, go read the rules and join in the contest! :) Good luck to all who wish to participate - there are some amazing prizes up for grabs! To name a few, I've thrown in Gundam kits, tee shirts, manga/comics, stationery and candy as prizes. If you'd like to enter, I'd love you to! There are more than seven people on our Judging Panel who will be helping me pick out a final winner, and points are given out for effort and concept as well as skill - meaning everyone who enters has a chance to win!
