Firstly, the sotm for September is the lovely courtney, who displayed some real prowess for her age when working with web design and whose eye-catching layout complimented her interesting content perfectly. Please visit courtney and give her the appreciation and respect she deserves for her hard work!

I decided to take some action about the fact this site was getting a bit deserted - since opening pink-robots.com last year, I've not publicised it much and relied mostly on pluggage from my awesome friends and fellow bloggers. So the other day, I signed up to glitter and despair.nu. And it seems to have really taken off! I'm so, so glad that people are taking the time to visit me and leave comments on my blogs. I really do appreciate to read how people are responding... sometimes other perspectives can make life that bit more interesting! I do hope that those who pop by would like to do so again, as I'd love to have some more regular visitors. I value every single one of you! A big, warm welcome to all the new guests.
On the other hand, there is another great advantage of using these sites: I have discovered a huge wealth of awesome new blogs to read! Yay!

Blog Day 2007 Oh, and another thing, speaking of blogging - happy blog day, everybody! This is a chance to get people's blogs plugged and recognised by posting five links to people's online diaries that you love. I've not done this before but it sure is a fun idea! These are my choices:

irene's blog is very personal and that's what I love about it. It would be insane not to mention her in this blog day entry. She always has something interesting to talk about on an issue that's close to her heart. Her openness is a real asset to the blogging community because, in my opinion, the real fun of blogging lies in finding out how others live throughout the world - both differently and similarly. We're close friends now, and met through the internet - showing just how great the online community can be for meeting wonderful friends.

mybabylove is a baby blog dedicated to a beloved child called Charlex, son of young, doting parents Alexis and Richard. The love this couple have for their baby is clear in their gorgeous blog with its colourful layout and glowing blog entries. Perhaps I like this blog out of general broodiness or for future reference when my time comes to have a sproglet of my own, but it's evident from mybabylove.org that Charlex has an amazing mom and dad. Very detailed, with everything from Charlex's weight at birth to the journal of Alexis' pregnancy - extremely helpful for any prospective mums and dads out there. Definitely worth looking at!

I discovered dee's blog through irene. She's a very sweet and caring woman who blogs frequently on the happenings in her life, and makes it entertaining and insightful reading. Often illustrated with sumptuous photographs, the layout is also always great to look at with cute colours and images. dee is a good graphics designer as well as a fantastic blogger, and offers goodies for her visitors to take for their own blogs - provided you give credit where it's due! Please check out her blog and spread the blog day love.

anne is a friend I acquired through deviantart whose website, inthefray.co.uk, has a simple but sophisticated layout and brilliant photography, courtesy of the gal herself. believe she's a good choice for my link pimpage on blog day because she, like me, loves to blog about London. Being a London resident herself is probably just as well, because anne is the biggest Londonophile I know! If you would like to read about escapades in Europe's largest city, please kindly visit this blogger from Blighty.

ben is listed here because I think it's necessary to show you the skills of the male bloggers out there. A guy with a real head for eye-popping, sleek modern design, ben is a talented friend of mine whose artwork and graphics are showcased on his blog, alongside more personal items of interest. Funny, passion-fuelled and knowledgeable - three ingredients for a great rant, which he frequently posts amongst his blog entries. Go to newklear.org today!

Whew... this blog entry is turning out pretty long-winded. Sorry... please continue reading for non-blog related shenanigans, if you will.

Yesterday was my enrolment day at college. This is for the second-years to affirm their final choices for the courses they'll be studying. There were a lot of first-years too, signing up for their AS classes. But now I'm a third-year (I do second-year courses, but I've now been here for two years due to illness in my first) I'm almost three years older than many of these kids and I'm beginning to feel comparitively ancient.
I'm now doing A2 English, French and History, and AS Psychology. We're also applying for university this term - scary!

In other news, lately my ten-month-old kitty, Dave, is becoming a bit more confident with humans. He was abused in his previous home so it's taken him a while to trust people. He's latched onto me a great deal! He follows me everywhere and, despite usually being a silent one, even meows to me when I say hello in the morning, or when he comes in at night. He has the most adorable, melodic call as though he's singing to you... it's so cute! He has also started doing affectionate "nose-kisses" (as I call them) and rubbing himself against my legs when he greets me. It's awesome to see him come out of his shell!
