People say you can tell a lot about a person by the way they write. Folks who study this are called graphologists.
Everyone has their own unique style of writing (just like your fingerprints!) and it is believed by graphologists that just by looking at one's hen tracks, it's possible to tell if one is outgoing or shy, artistic or serious, secretive or open-hearted. As for your signature? To a professional graphologist, it's a goldmine of information that can show more about YOU than a full whole page of your handwriting!
The famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven's writing was an illegible scrawl, but, according to handwriting analysts, this is an indication of "creative genius". Beethoven's shocking handwriting led to the publishers of his romantic piece, "Fur Therese" (For Therese) being unable to read the title, and thus immortalising one of his most recognized works of all time as "Fur Elise" (For Elise.) So don't worry if you think your handwriting is a little less than perfect to say the least. It could just mean you've got a head for success!
As well as for working out the scribbler's personality traits, in the modern world graphology is also used for marriage guidance, career advice, staff recruitment and for solving emotional problems.

Here's a sample of my handwriting. To detract from the gheyness, I've written it on PRETTY PINK KITTY PAPER! *runs away, taking fluffly cute kitten with her*

My writing slants to the right, which means I have a tendency to be outgoing, friendly, impulsive, and emotionally open.
I press moderately on the paper when writing, which shows there is an ability of dealing with stress.
My letters are fairly large which indicates a bubbly, easy-going demanour.
The wideness of the letters means I'm open and friendly.
My letters like "d" and "b" have single, short stems which shows that I am independent and perhaps cunning; but lack ego.
The bars on my "t's" are right-aligned (conveying a forward-thinking, enthusiastic and self-motivated state of mind) and go towards the middle of the stem (a medium level of drive towards my goals).
My "g's" and "y's" have an arcade to the left-hand side of them, which suggests that I withdraw from feelings of guilt and try to find a scapegoat whenever possible.
A few of my letters connect revealing I have a personality which blends both logic and intuition, but as most of them do not join up I am more likely to exercise impulse than caution.
Here is a copy of my signature... ...it's /meant/ to say, "S. Kettle."

Lots of whirls and loops? That demonstrates a liking for attention, with an often loud and fiery personality and that I have a habit of making myself known!
My signature's tail circles around at the end like a kind of "protective barrier", a sure sign that I sometimes feel frightened by other people and that, at times, the world can seem a big and scary place to me! D;
